Our story began in the summer of 2008 when former director and founder of Camp Abilities Long Island, Lisa Santos, traveled to Brockport, New York, to volunteer as a coach at the Camp Abilities hosted at SUNY-Brockport.
While Lisa volunteered at Camp Abilities Brockport for college credit she returned home with a determination that would shape the next ten years of her life, and the lives of children with visual impairments from all over Long Island.
Lisa launched Camp Abilities Long Island that very next summer, and in 2018 we celebrated our tenth anniversary as a camp that continues to welcome both new coaches and campers into our family.
